From the very inception of Wayab - with "Tales from the transcendent" - the substance of the project has been finding ways to express the inexpressible through the development of abstract language based on sound. This release differs from the previous Wayab albums in its incorporation of verbal language alongside the purely sonic one, with quotations from ancient scriptures, both canonical and apocryphal. The album is structured as a sonic triptych, representing three paths leading in...

This is Tomoroh Hidari (Ivory Bunker Records, Record Label Records, Isolate Records) first new album since 2012's Some Stars not yet Black Holes, featuring tracks mostly composed over the last 2 or three years, with 1 or 2 going back even further. Its texture is composed of a mix of field recordings, samples, lush synth pads and heavy basses and intricate beats; while guitars, melodica, toy and Theremin - all played by Hidarisan himself - also make an appearance. Brainquake is Marc, originating from the mail-art/tape-art scene in the late eighties and composing and collecting sounds since then under this moniker and few others. Ranging from ambient, soundcollages to electro, dark wave, from noise to industrial or even poplike tunes embedded in electronics or, the way he himself labels his sounds on recent releases, “endzeit emotronica”, the music of Brainquake is allways lengthy, strong in build-up and quite often heavily emotional. Centrul Isteric (FR: Centre Hystérique; EN: Hysterical Center) is the brainchild of Romanian A/V artist Gili Mocanu, better known for his abstract electronics project, Somnoroase Păsărele, which saw over a dozen recordings released on Baba Vanga (CZ), Anti-Everything (US), Czaszka (UK), OBS (RU), OTA and URUBU (PT). "The underwater fires" is a conceptual EP, revolving all around Autonomaton's love for the underwater life and rivers, seas, oceans and aquariums. That's a passion shared with the Mahorka boss Ivo Petrov, so you can guess that this release has been long time coming. In the tracks one can hear actual sounds from real fish (not mammals) captured and presented in very experimental ways. All tunes were produced on a computer but analogue equipment such as a Korg and a 303 machine were...

"Lost data" is an album arranged on the basis of a selection of unreleased and forgotten versions of tracks that Sai made between 2004-2008, representing his early ideas and sequences with sample-based and computer generated music, fused into the styles of drum and bass, industrial and breaks. "Basically the project came into being from the job I do. I work in the waste/recycling industry and have done for 3 years. When I first started I was absolutely mortified at how wasteful we are in this country and likely most of the developed world. There is so much food waste (tins, dried goods that get thrown away even though they are perfectly fine). I eat what I think is OKay. Me and others also find gold, silver, rolex watches etc. I found a bottle of whiskey valued at 1400 pounds....

The music of WHΛLTHISИEY here is served with the usual tones of his ambient compositions, which, except for the exceptions, are generally piano based, accompanied by drone soundscapes, which in this Mahorka debut for the artist were developed further into noisier territories, yet containing even heavier calmness. Sounds of noisy guitars stand out around and through the slow reverberating piano flows, presenting an environment more dense and obscure than usual that provides a solitary...

“Walking into a mosque one enters into the space of a very strong idea. Although these architectures reflect the human universe of the believers, the principles of their construction obey the laws of the creator of the universe. Walking in a valley, into cave or forest presents an equally strong idea, if one listens carefully. The natural world is also created by an unknown, undefinable creator. “This album is the first work I’ve done in 2019 and also part of a series of instrumental works that reflect upon absence in different ways, in a pentalogy. All of them expresses what I felt after the latest political misfortunes in my country (Brazil) and overall social-political state of mind in the world. In “Insomniac Dreams” - the absence of rest and sleep to convey life in its existence. In “Antimanicomial” - the absence of sanity in its helplessness in a political system that...

Radoslav and Dusted Wax Kingdom's very own Dimitar 'VPD' Kalinov got in touch regarding the project while the movie was still on the script stage and VPD recorded a series of tracks, mostly variations/takes on same theme ingredients, specifically for "Dead Weather". "Suoni Olofonici" is the new realization of Strepitvsitvs and the long-awaited and discussed debut release on Mahorka for the duo. In 2019, Thomas Park suggested to work with Mahorka on a new project, to use his generative composition techniques coded in Python to remix one or more releases. Label curator Ivo Petrov furnished Thomas with a set of tracks from the early Mahorka catalog [2001-2006], selected specifically for the purpose at hand. Using his Python tools, Thomas extracted and edited fragments/loops from the tracks and created different sets of iterations. The results were quite magical to Thomas. He felt that...

"Finally Infinite" is a the long due brilliant comeback album from Austin Brooks a.k.a. Sevensy after his now considered a classic debut "Beacon", released to much acclaim way back in 2007. While he has stayed busy recording and producing music throughout the years and we have kept compilation tracks, remixes and collaborations coming out in the in-between decade, this outstanding new full-lenth release on Mahorka surely is to bring a much deserved exclusive focus on...

"In just four songs TFSL creates worlds that need decades to be explored. The music in 'III' is drowned in tape hiss as we need it to be, it's as dreamy as its roots in shoegazing psychedelia but has somehow managed to remain as punchy and primal as any underground rock record born and raised on the Balkans. All stories need to have their epic ending, but we should all hope we're able to experience many more chapters of Tales From The Sleeping Land before we find oursevels dragged back...

PRELINGUAL MUSIC (Janne Nummela, Jan 2018) "I was in England. I stood on an embankment by a small heavily flowing canal. The speed of the water had to be 40 km/h. There seemed to be a cantilever bridge over the canal, moving along with the water, like a ferry. The bridge was coming down the canal towards where I stood. The ferryman was a voluminously red-haired woman. I yelled to her: "Can I get on the bridge? Is the bridge strong enough for my heaviness?” She said: "I guess it...

The music of Encased in Amber tells it's stories through an intricate mesh of melodies and texture. Described as downtempo, ambient, and dreamy, Encased in Amber puts forth the concept that each time a piece of music is written it crystallizes what was felt and processed in that moment of time, like a fossil caught in amber.  The 'Parallel Worlds' project is intended as an audio-visual experience. The artwork of Jeroen Advocaat sets the scene with themes of distance, longing, and the...

“Birthmarks” by Slit In Slot is an emotional, harsh and considered work. A precise, even meticulous amalgam of field recordings, ambient and noise music, the release combines as much as it dissects all of its core components. The resulting music is sometimes drifting, sometimes scorching but always remaining humane. Beneath “Birthmarks” lies a strong and personal concept, a complex understanding of sound and an obsessive desire to transform the sonic ruins of our shared reality into new...

Grid Resistor is a project started by Thomas Park (known also for his Mystified and Mister Vapor projects) in May, 2017.  "Kappa" continues in Grid Resistor's tradition of only using machine sounds as source material, naming each solo release after a Greek letter and the songs in there - by the date on which they were composed and the track number composed on that date.  "Kappa" contains three mid-range, somewhat meditative industrial drone tracks. released July 2, 2017

Saint Null is a Bulgarian sound artist on the noise/ambient divide, conjuring up textures between meditative bliss and metropolitan noise pollution. In his debut release on Mahorka "The Sound of Non-existent Machines" the space is vast, and mostly cold. There is motion and activity at many levels, at all times, things vibrate at different rates, at times everything decays into (not so) white noise. Whatever the machines are, they occasionally operate in harmony. It's also likely that...

The tracks were recorded live in the studio, utilizing various software generators and effects, but inspired by real-world industrial environments (as the last track's name hints).
